PPM Fertilizer Calculations
_Jack's Nutrients 12-4-16 RO
mg of fertilizer = target ppm (mg L) / % of desire element in compound
= mg of fertilizer in 1 liter of water to supply target ppm
- target ppm N
- 125 ppm
- % of desired element in compound
- .12
- L of water in our container
- 1.7
125 ppm / .12 %N * 1.7 L = 1.771 g of Jack's Nutrients 12-4-16 RO
Task List
TODO
- Measure water level in mL up to 1/2/3cm from bottom of net cup.
-
Fill the jar with DI water, doesn't have to be milli-Q.
- Need to talk with Dr. Krueger or Dr. Applegate
- Measuring 1700ml: need 1000ml graduated cylinder and small graduated cylinder.
- Fill large to 1000ml and then 700ml.
- Measure the EC of the DI water.
- Get my fertilizer, find out how many grams to add that puts the EC in range.
- Measure the new EC levels of the nutrient DI water.
- Measure the pH of the EC nutrient solution.
