Frequently Asked Questions
Can you reuse pipette tips?
Yes, if pipetting from the same solution (into a clean receptacle) and the tip is kept clean. Though, the quantity may not be accurate after the first usage (pre-wetting the tip may help).
How to dispose of highly alkaline salts?
If the pH is under between 2 and 12.5, neutralize or dilute to within a pH of 5 and 10 and drain with water. Other hazardous waste conditions may apply and render the solution unable to be drained.

Hazardous Waste is waste that has one, or more, of the following characteristics:

- Corrosive
- pH above 12.5 or below 2
- Toxic
- Variety of definitions, but “harmful or fatal when ingested or absorbed”
- Reactive

- Must be dilute liquid
- Must have a pH between 5 and 10
